Helping you to face the wave of anxiety head-on, without fear.
I’m Chloë, an accredited therapist in helping people break free from the spiral of fear and anxiety, including:
Freeing yourself from compulsive cleaning, checking or other neutralising behaviours
Feeling confident and assured in social settings
Overcoming phobias
Processing a traumatic event
Reducing daily worries
Breaking the vicious cycle of anxiety
Regaining your confidence and self worth
Improving your sleep and motivation
Do you have intrusive thoughts that scare you? Panic attacks out of nowhere? Perhaps you freeze in social situations, or constantly feel on edge and worried? I can help.
A bit about me.
My approach.
My qualifications.
I spent years fearing anxiety and trying to avoid it at all costs. I made drastic adaptations my life to minimise anxiety-inducing situations, only to find it crept in elsewhere. It wasn’t until I learnt why I felt anxious and how the fear kept returning that I was able to break free from the cycle and reclaim my life.
I now work with people to regain calm and happiness in their every day. I am an accredited therapist with extensive training in how our emotions are affected by our thoughts and actions and therefore how we can use psychological therapies to release ourselves from crippling anxiety, whether that presents as general worries, panic attacks, avoidance, intrusive thoughts or flashbacks.
I use a combination of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) in
my work.
Initially, we will have an assessment where I will invite you to tell me about what has made you reach out
for help, when the problem began, the impact on your life and what you would like to get out of treatment.
I will then make suggestions based on what you have shared and together we agree a plan for treatment.
I use evidence-based approaches that can be adapted depending on your needs and preferences. We will regularly review how you are finding treatment.
Together, we can work on understanding what is keeping the spiral of fear going and take steps to overcome the obstacles.
Please note: I am currently training in EMDR and therefore am offering discounted rates for EMDR-based treatments. I am receiving close supervision by an accredited EMDR Europe supervisor. Please get in touch to ask about EMDR sessions.
I am fully accredited by the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapists) as well as Psychology Today.
I hold a Post-graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Royal Holloway University and a
Post-graduate Certificate in Low-Intensity CBT Interventions from University College London.
I have taken further training in Compassion Focussed Therapy by the Compassionate Mind Foundation and
I am currently training as an EMDR practitioner under Dr Button, EMDR Europe Approved Consultant
and Trainer.
How can I help?
Here are some of the problems I can help with.
OCD
More than neatness, characterised by dark thoughts that scare us and attempts to get rid of these thoughts through repeated actions.
Anxiety
Constant worry and feeling on edge, doubting decisions you’ve made and fearing downtime when the worries return.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
When we experience a distressing event, our memories can have trouble processing what we’ve seen. You may experience nightmares or flashbacks.
Phobias
Whether an animal, object or situation,
phobias cause extensive lifestyle changes and
hyper-vigilance.
Low self esteem
Our self worth or value. Low self esteem can start off as “tough love” but can lead to demotivation, strong self-criticism, anxiety and depression.
Panic attacks
Suddenly feeling you need to escape paired with a terrifying rush of adrenaline. Panic symptoms can make us feel scared, confused and alone.
